[Ben]:Legality of copied gun permits in Indiana Discuss This [8 comments so far] View Comments
I mentioned to Nate that I planned on making copies of my lifetime permit in case the original were lost or damaged. I've done this with my past permits as well.

He seemed to think that the Indiana State Police would not like the idea. In his words: "I would bet willing to be that doing that is not cool with the ISP."

I picked up the phone and called (317) 233-5054. When the helpful lady answered, I asked: "Is it legal to make copies of a gun permit to use in case the original is damaged, or is only the original valid?"

Her reply: "You can make copies of it."

Of course, this isn't a binding legal decision, but it sets my mind at ease.

And Nate, that bet you were willing to make? Let's say 2,000 rounds of .223. How 'bout it?
