[Michael]:Worse vs. Worst: No. 238 Butler vs. No. 239 Valpo Discuss This [1 comment so far] View Comments
I'm not sure if you read this in Tuesday's Indianapolis Star. It was on the bottom of the front page of the sports section. It got a lot of us laughing.

---

So you thought the biggest college football showdown in the country Saturday would be USC's visit to Notre Dame?

If you're talking about evenly matched teams, it's No. 239 Valparaiso at No. 238 Butler.

Out of 239 teams playing NCAA Division I football, those are the two worst, according to Sagarin computer rankings. It should be noted that neither Butler nor Valparaiso awards football scholarships, in contrast to almost all other teams in Divisions I-A or I-AA.

Valpo (1-5) offers the Bulldogs (0-6) their best chance to end a 12-game losing streak. The Bulldogs lost to Valpo 31-26 last year, the closest defeat of their losing streak.

Kickoff is 1 p.m. in Butler's homecoming game.
